Sovah Patient Testimonial - Whitney's Story
December 3, 2024
Congratulations to Whitney Russell who recently completed her chemotherapy treatments at Sovah Cancer Center.
Whitney found a lump in her breast while doing a self-examination. Self-breast exams are a simple yet essential practice for maintaining breast health. By performing regular self-exams, individuals become more familiar with the look and feel of their breasts, which makes it easier to notice any unusual changes, such as lumps, swelling, or changes in shape or size. Whitney was then seen and evaluated by her doctor, referred to Dr. Mancl at Sovah Surgical Specialists for a lumpectomy, ultimately had a mastectomy, then returned to the cancer center for chemo treatment.
"My experience with the team at Sovah Cancer Center during my chemotherapy treatments has been nothing short of amazing. From the very first appointment, I was welcomed with warmth and compassion by everyone on staff. Facing a cancer diagnosis is difficult, but having a team that truly cares makes a world of difference.
Throughout my chemo treatments, the nurses and doctors went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, answer all of my questions, and provide the encouragement I needed to stay positive. They understood the emotional and physical challenges I was facing, and their support lifted me up during the most difficult days. The staff’s dedication to my care made me feel like more than just a patient – I felt like I was part of their family.
Thanks to the outstanding team at Sovah Health, I’ve come through my treatments with hope and strength for the future. I can’t thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism, and unwavering support. I am forever grateful!"
