Thank you for visiting the Sovah School of Health Professions web page! The School of Health Professions’ campus is located within the city of Danville, VA. It is owned and operated by Sovah Health. The School of Health Professions is currently comprised by full-time, two-year, hospital based, Associate of Applied Science Degree programs in Radiologic Technology and Sonography.
The Sovah School of Health Professions is located on the campus of Sovah Health - Danville at 137 South Main Street, Danville, Virginia.
The School is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and is certified to operate as an Institution of Postsecondary Education by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). The Radiologic Technology Program is programmatically accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). All sonography programs, to include abdominal extended sonography, obstetrics and gynecology sonography, vascular sonography, and cardiovascular sonography, are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
The School is also approved to offer GI Bill educational benefits by the Virginia State Approving Agency.
Students who successfully complete one of our programs are eligible to sit for the respective National Certification Examinations. Students may also be required, upon graduation, to become licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia or the state in which they decide to reside. Based on the standard credentialing requirements established by the American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), and Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Sovah School of Health Professions meets the criteria necessary to ensure that graduates are eligible to apply for Virginia and North Carolina state specific certification and licensure when applicable. The institution must also meet the accreditation requirements for general academic courses set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Virginia and North Carolina Community Colleges as well as many technical schools do meet these requirements. For this area, the major accreditors are:

Imaging Technology is an exciting health care field with a wide variety of challenging and rewarding career options. Admission to our programs is very competitive, and enrollment is limited, therefore admission to our programs is NOT guaranteed. Our students are evaluated on both academic and non-academic predictors of success, and the most qualified applicants will be scheduled for a personal interview with various program representatives. Scores from the application process as well as the interview will be used in the selection of our class. All information is kept strictly confidential and selections will be made in accordance with nondiscriminatory policies.
Those who are accepted will be required to complete and pass a physical examination, criminal background check, and drug screening.
