Facing a life limiting illness is never easy and EVERYONE deserves to live life pain and symptom-free with dignity, respect and support. Hospice services are here to offer hope when all seems lost. Hospice services have touched millions of lives across the United States. It is a special kind of care that every person should know about. Unfortunately, patients and families are being referred to hospice care too late, or not at all. Hospice care is provided wherever a patient lives and it is delivered by specially trained staff who can effectively anticipate, assess, treat and prevent all types of physical symptoms that cause discomfort and distress. Registered nurses, hospice aides (CNAs), social workers, chaplains and volunteers offer emotional support and compassion to help patients and their loved ones during one of life’s most sacred journeys.

Hospice is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance. Hospice is available to individuals with end-stage illness for which there is no cure. But hospice care is not limited to the last few days of a patient’s life, it can provide support throughout the final stages of illness up to six months.
